When I was still a youngster of around a year, I met a boy who scared me really bad with a really SCARY Halloween mask (I know that now, back then I thoughts he was a monster!). So I was really scareds of kids after that for a long, long time and would try and run the other way when I saw them.
(That kid is just a meanie anyhow, he’s still trying to make me bark at him by making stupid noises every time he sees me, but I just ignores him nowadays ’cause I got smarter when I got older even if he didn’t!)
My humans made sure I got to meets really nice kids after that and got them to give me loads of treats and now I think children are OKs. I really like to meet them at adoption days and places like that, when they can pets me all they likes as long as some of them gives me treats. But I still gets nervous if they runs up to me outside, especially if they makes loud noises and my humans would never trust children alone with me, ’cause you never know when the kids might decides to hurt my ouchy legs or stuff by accident.

Children and doggies can be good friends if everyone gets used to each other earlies and learns to respect each other properlies.
So dogs and childrens are good, but only if the big humans can watch them both to makes sure everyone is happies. The big humans should be extra carefuls with adult dogs likes me who aren’t used to children, ’cause we aren’t going to put up with being annoyeds as much as doggies who grew up with them.
And big humans – NEVER, EVER let your children run screaming up to a dog when they see it – it’s REALLY bad manners and us doggies can get scareds. You humans wouldn’t like it if us doggies ran up to children barking and barking, ’cause you’d think we might bites them and us doggies feel the same about your children! Teaches them to say hello nicely by waiting for us doggies to come up to them first instead. That way everyone will be happies.
Here’s a really good linkie for how kids and doggies should behave togethers:
